Cardi - supre
Singlets - cotton on
skirt - cotton on
tights - cotton on (i think)
shoes - i love billy
I wore this to Simon's work xmas party. The skirt is actually a dress, I like it better as a skirt though! It only cost $10 yay. I wouldn't have paid the original $50 for it. I bloody love it though, I think I'll get heaps of wear out of it. These shoes are gorgeous, I love them. I love Billy have some great shoes.
Cardi - supre
T-shirt - supre
Grey top - cotton on
Jeans - gripp (half price!)
Shoes - Converse <3>
This is just a boring Saturday grocery shopping getup. And I look terribly emo, forgive me. It was my first every outfit photo though. The t-shirt is inspired by a youtube video... if you haven't seen it, have a look:
Beached
I find it hilarious. It's even more funny just to quote it.
Simon and I are off to the city this arvo. His work Christmas part is tonight. Last year it was 25K on
the tab - food and drink galore! So my hopes are high that tonight will be very fun indeed.
We have booked a hotel room so we can make the most of the weekend and not have to bother with a taxi home.
I have finally put my camera in to be fixed!!! It had 2 days left on it's manufacturers warranty - phew!
I did purchase an extended warranty tho, if I had have been a bit more lazy it would've been ok, but I figure the manufacture's warranty is even better. So not too much longer without my camera hopefully!
I do have my brother Nick's tho, he barely uses it. I bought it for him for his 21st birthday in July. It's not a bad little camera, although I'm convinced it takes shocking photos of me, I always look really red.
So I'll have some outfit photos in the next few days. I want a different word than 'outfit' - I hardly wear anything special enough for such a word. What can it be.. Maybe I'll just suck it up and use the damn word lol.
I want to watch the high school musical movies.
Am i too old for this?
I have been brainwashed by advertising.
Still.
I probs will!
:)
I have ALWAYS been a big lover of clothes.
I don't have one certain look. If you looked for 'genres' in my wardrobe you'd easily find
punk
rock
emo
hippy
preppy
formal
casual
simple
fussy
I feel good in converse, jeans and a band T.
I feel good in a pretty dress with sandals.
I try not to look boring.
I do try to look coordinated.
I pretty much only shop in chain stores and shopping centres. I have defnitely got better of late in only buying things that are versatile. Not buying tops in every colour just coz they're cheap. When I was younger, I'd do that. When supre was more cheap and nasty (still is, but not as much as I remember) I'd just find a top I liked and buy it in a few colours.
I think I'm starting to become a better shopper and a better dresser. For a few reasons.
1. I'm 22 and have better shopping habits
2. I have been utterly inspired by numerous blogs I've stumbled upon. I wish I'd discovered these fantastic blogs before now. I spend far too long trawling through them, seeing others girls outfits and ideas.
3. I am far more open to handmade, recycling, one of a kind designs and op-shopping. It's actually taking up far too much brain time how much I want to alter my clothes and go to op shops and markets.
All this took was being shown one top on one website and it's actually changed everything!
I will never be one of the naturally stylish, fabulous, original girls who look so great they can write a whole blog about it, but i can be someone who admires them and listens to their message.
So my new wardrobe thinking is very refreshing. Also, I have a mortgage you know!??! (my excuse for everything which is quite a joke amongst my friends now) so SAVING MONEY is always very welcome. And I would say op-shopping, altering and recycling saves money. And makes me feel a little bit good about not spending my money on disposable fashion.
SO. After all that. I have made a few op-shop purchases recently, and I must say they make me far more excited than anything I can remember buying new recently.
I got a beautiful skirt for $7. It's a kids size but is actually too big for me (cheers for that confidence boost lol) I played with it in front of the mirror and it looked best when i tightened it and tied it with a hair-tie (lol) and wore it as a high waisted skirt. It's a very gorgeous aqua and gold pattern.
A black and grey striped jumper. It's a guys top but very cool. I love black and grey. I think it will look good with skinny leg jeans and chucks.
A mens shirt in a great green/blue/black pattern. I think I'll bring it in to wear as a dress (as in, get mum to alter it for me lol)
A great black belt. The type to cinch in the waist. $1.50
A pair of heels which I wore with my queen of hearts costume. $4.
See how even those items are all different?
I guess it's ok to look different yeah.. I don't have to always have a certain look or style do I? I think it's kind of driven into us that you have to have a 'style'.
I think wearing what you love is style itself.
To end, I've always wished I was a gifted sewer. like my Mum, she is professional. I'm going to get her to teach me, yay!!!
WARDROBE REVOLUTION.

I went to the cup today with my fabulous uncle Justin. He's a very generous, hilarious man. He's also gay, single and childless which means his nieces and nephews (all 30 of us!) get spoilt. Hence, my 2nd Melbourne Cup in a row. I would have to say i did my hair THE BEST I've ever seen my hair in 22 years. Definitely the best DIY-style I remember. Go me! Wish my camera wasn't screwed so I could upload a photo. Really must get it fixed.I have a bit of sunburn on my neck.. dammit! I HATE being burnt. I have two things I really can't stand people willingly doing to their bodies.. burning their skin and smoking cigarettes. Sorry to anyone offended, but also not. Thus, I'm mad I forgot sunscreen. Thank GOSH there is SPF in my foundation, I couldn't stand having a burnt face. There were many interesting sites to see today at Flemington. Very disappointed the only person of note I saw was John Elliot (former president of the carlton football club) - boring!! The best part of the day for me is looking at what everyone is wearing - the girls particularly of course. Today I feel there weren't too many bad hats/fascinators - lots of really cute ones. There were girls wearing dresses certainly not suited for their shape/size. I hope I wasn't one of them lol. It's got to be one of the biggest crimes out there in the clothing world, not dressing for your body. I try to be conscious of it... I'm not the rake I once was, but I can still wear mostly what I want I guess. I think I'm sometimes too harsh on myself and veto certain outfits when I should just embrace my figure and wear whatever! But that is another long debated subject, good old body image. All this talk about clothes is going to bring me to a new post.BTW, i did terrible betting. Got 1 third and 1 second - and Justin picked the 2nd!
The night finally arrived! There was a mad rush for Simon and I to get ready before guests started arriving, but we got there!I was the Queen of Hearts:
and Simon was an Evil Jester.
There were some quality costumes from our invitees.. we had Shrek, zombies, gorilla, gypsy, ladybug, Mr incredible, devil fairy, angel, pirate, gangster, vampire, cross dressers, lara croft, a devil.. and lots of various scary/killer types!I bought way too much food, so will have to host a gathering to chow through it! I can't believe how annoying the weather was though.. it drizzled on and off most of the night.. and it's been so lovely lately! ggrr. But we made do, hooray for the garage. I think the setup worked alright. I love having parties!Today I did some work in a kitchen, preparing food for the spring racing carnival. Simon and I are happy to pick up extra work if we can, we want to do some work to our kitchen. (and save for a holiday, and buy a new bed, and get central heating/cooling and, and and). I didn't mind it really.. I've never handled so much chicken in my life haha. It was easy work.. weighing/coating/skewering chook.BIG week.. Going to be pretty tired after shop work, nannying, party, saturday work, sunday work & netball, monday shop & nannying and gig that night, tuesday going to the cup. I think I'll be pretty pooped on Wednesday! Don't mind being busy though.Speaking of the cup (which my extremely cool uncle justin is taking me to) WHAT CAN I WEAR??! I wore a gorgeous black and white dress last year (wanted to post a pic but it won't let me...?) and I love it so much.. but I want something new. And preferably a bit more wearable.. I have to check my cleavage far too much in this dress lol. I'm hoping something in my wardrobe will inspire me. I really should've thought about it sooner but just been too preoccupied! This is quite a long post. My next post will be about change I think. i've always been good adapting to change.. I really go with the flow, which I like. I think I've changed a lot lately, and my mind has been opened to new things even in the last fortnight which will be good to write down.YAY: enjoyed our party!BOO: high heels hurt.
