I've been to NYC, we stayed in the Hudson Hotel http://www.hudsonhotel.com/#/home/ It was pretty nice, right near Trump Towers and Central Park. Dunno how much it cost, fiances boss paid for us and we generally stayed in 4 or 5 star places when finance travelled for work. It was nice though. In NYC the hotels are weird, the reception/bars turn in to nightclubs on weekend nights and it gets full of people. Anyway, we weren't there for nearly long enough but one thing we did do that I liked was the Hop-a-bus type thing. You pay for a 24hr ticket and you get on and off the bus as you please and it takes you all over the city, stopping at various places. We also did the carriage ride around Central Park, which was a little cheesy but not too bad. Ground Zero is a must see, it's a pretty emotional place and very surreal.
