Managed to get a few xmas pressies today. Dad, Karen, Tyler and Ebony hooray! That's my Dad & stepmum and 2 half (never say that, but better this once for explaining sake) siblings. I also got myself some tops yay. And upgraded my phone!! It's a new Sony Ericsson.. I love it!

This is what I wore today. Not terribly exciting but I liked it. I'd just got out of the shower, so no head today haha.

Cardi - Supre
Top - Jay Jays
Shorts - Target
Shoes - random shop i can't remember

These are my shoes. one of my faves. Skulls again!

omigosh

My darling friend Liza knows my heart. Toddler socks with skulls! Bless.

How unreal are they!!!
Thanks love :)

GIGANTO APPLE

behold..

Simon just brought home the apple to end all apples. i like my apples green and crunchy only.
aka granny smith. i tried to take a photo to show just how massive it is... it's the biggest i've ever seen, by far!!

random enough for ya?

You're odd.. and so are your socks

This post may just blow your mind it is that interesting.
I coloured up my day with odd socks at work. i love colourful socks. especially worn odd.

HURRAY. These shoes made too much noise on the concrete floor of the storeroom though. Converse better.

*title of post is an actual Simon quote. What a hoot!!

Jump shot, I'm joining in... *

So Cotton Socks and Couch Shopper (two neat blogs I stumbled upon, a bf & gf team I believe) have put the challenge out to post a jump shop.
very cool idea, kudos.

It just so happens I have one from a long time ago I will post! I think it was 2005 even. Old as. This is evidenced by my short hair and very skater clothing lol. The secret to getting a good jump shot me and my friend finally discovered when we weren't quick enough with our average camera, is to get a run up. Then you have time whilst running to snap the photo. Genius.

* I don't usually obscure my face, i just look so hideous here I had to. Super skinny (back then) + jumping = face not look so attractive.

Nostalgia...

me!

I love those moments when you think "Oh my gosh, I remember them/those/that!"

I've been wanting to do this post for a while, so gathering things in my brain.. but I've forgotten some, I'll add them when I remember!

I'm 22 so these memories aren't really from yesteryear or anything haha...

Remember getting a Coke yo-yo? Everyone knew they were the best.

Jelly shoes - my first and only pair $4. awesome.

Slap bands

Blowing bubbles.. always makes me happy

Playing on the swings.. with the monkey bars in the middle to hang and flip from

Pedal pushers - I used to love them so much when they 'came out' in Warrnambool where i grew up - i would point at anyone wearing them and shriek 'pedal pushers!!' the denim were the coolest. When i got my black (not denim) pair.. i was SO HAPPY.

Being jealous of kids with broken arms who got out of handwriting

Collecting crayon sharpening remnants because they were so cool!

Wearing socks over leggings. Especially scrunchy ones.

Skants - pants with the matching skirt over the top. The epitomy of cool, once.

Bending paper clips into hearts and wearing them in the 'V' of your school jumper

Butterfly hair clips. At least 10 in a messy bun.

For more things to giggle at, read Lady Smaggle's post...
When you were 14 years old.. what fashion item would you have sold your soul for?

One of my favourite blogs to spend time reading!

Coloured Tights

Cardigan - Jay Jays
Singlet - free from a magazine
Skirt - Cotton On
Tights - Cotton On
Shoes - Target ($10!)

One of my fave things to wear. I wear leggings and tights a lot. My pink and purple ones are my favourite. I have just been given the idea from other blogs (a fair few actually!) to wear two pairs at a time..

I've put black underneath the purple and pink pairs. It's good because it takes away the skin colour coming through like you can see in the photo above. Compare that to how they look in this post. Much more of a block colour.
And it's very warm! Which isn't so great when you're dancing up a storm at Bang.. but a big plus at other times. So when winter rolls around again, I'll be ready with multiple pairs of tights!

random facts

I am 22 and super clucky. i don't want kids yet but I'm super excited about when it happens. I have bought baby clothes already.. I'm a shocker! i just lloooovvee babies.

I get REALLY annoyed at terrible drivers. I mean really, stay in your lane, it's not that hard!

Time seriously goes four times as fast when i'm on my laptop. I'll think I've been on here for maybe half an hour... and get a bit of a shock when I look at the clock!

Thought I'd upload one of my favourite ever photos.. of me and Jorja my sister.. she is SO beautiful. inside and out.

Raspberry Hair

New hair! It is quite fluoro pink now. I love it!
It's Raspberry Wakk semi permanent hair colour.
Blue will be next I think, this pink is my fave so far.
I also got a haircut that was long overdue and finally have
a fringe that I'm really happy with. Major improvement!

Finally! 'Outfit' Post

Cardi - supre
Singlets - cotton on
skirt - cotton on
tights - cotton on (i think)
shoes - i love billy

I wore this to Simon's work xmas party. The skirt is actually a dress, I like it better as a skirt though! It only cost $10 yay. I wouldn't have paid the original $50 for it. I bloody love it though, I think I'll get heaps of wear out of it. These shoes are gorgeous, I love them. I love Billy have some great shoes.

Cardi - supre
T-shirt - supre
Grey top - cotton on
Jeans - gripp (half price!)
Shoes - Converse <3>

This is just a boring Saturday grocery shopping getup. And I look terribly emo, forgive me. It was my first every outfit photo though. The t-shirt is inspired by a youtube video... if you haven't seen it, have a look:
Beached
I find it hilarious. It's even more funny just to quote it.

city city

Simon and I are off to the city this arvo. His work Christmas part is tonight. Last year it was 25K on
the tab - food and drink galore! So my hopes are high that tonight will be very fun indeed.
We have booked a hotel room so we can make the most of the weekend and not have to bother with a taxi home.

I have finally put my camera in to be fixed!!! It had 2 days left on it's manufacturers warranty - phew!
I did purchase an extended warranty tho, if I had have been a bit more lazy it would've been ok, but I figure the manufacture's warranty is even better. So not too much longer without my camera hopefully!
I do have my brother Nick's tho, he barely uses it. I bought it for him for his 21st birthday in July. It's not a bad little camera, although I'm convinced it takes shocking photos of me, I always look really red.

So I'll have some outfit photos in the next few days. I want a different word than 'outfit' - I hardly wear anything special enough for such a word. What can it be.. Maybe I'll just suck it up and use the damn word lol.

Am i too old for this?
I have been brainwashed by advertising.
Still.
I probs will!

theme parties

I've been to many! I'm going to upload a photo of all the costumes I've worn..
Most of the were in 2007.

50's rock and roll.
Tops from my wardrobe. Supre headband worn around neck. Hired belt and poodle skirt. Bought high wedge heeled canvas shoes from op-shop, they're hilarious.

'James Bond 007'
- hard. We all just got very dressed up. I had a big gun and little 'spy pack'.. with a fake passport, grenade and other crazy little gadgets I can't remember. The gun was a hit. It yelled stuff and shot lasers. It broke that night. Silly rough boys. I love this dress. It's verrry tight over the bust on me! It's from Valley Girl (where I have 2 items from) The second time I wore it one of the straps broke..ugh.. turning it into strapless. Needs to be fixed.

'Dress as your hero'
I am Brett Lee (love love love him) and my brother Nick is Angus from AC/DC. It was hard trying to get an authentic cricketer look on a budget!
The top and hat came from Vic Markets. You can't get official pants or shorts (I tried very hard anyway) so I settled on boxer shorts! lol. I even made an Allan Border Medal (brett had just won it.) yes I am very tragic. And i was blonde (wig) for the first time ever. My costume was convincing, a friend overseas commented it was lovely my friend's brother made a speech. It was me. LOL.

'Pirate and Wenches'
Everything from my wardrobe.. an easy costume, just add $2 shop accessories!

Hippy.
Sorry this looks so lame, had to cut people out. Clothes from Op-Shop. Scarf around head from Lincraft.

Clothes

I have ALWAYS been a big lover of clothes.
I don't have one certain look. If you looked for 'genres' in my wardrobe you'd easily find

punk
rock
emo
hippy
preppy
formal
casual
simple
fussy
I feel good in converse, jeans and a band T.
I feel good in a pretty dress with sandals.
I try not to look boring.
I do try to look coordinated.

I pretty much only shop in chain stores and shopping centres. I have defnitely got better of late in only buying things that are versatile. Not buying tops in every colour just coz they're cheap. When I was younger, I'd do that. When supre was more cheap and nasty (still is, but not as much as I remember) I'd just find a top I liked and buy it in a few colours.

I think I'm starting to become a better shopper and a better dresser. For a few reasons.

1. I'm 22 and have better shopping habits
2. I have been utterly inspired by numerous blogs I've stumbled upon. I wish I'd discovered these fantastic blogs before now. I spend far too long trawling through them, seeing others girls outfits and ideas.
3. I am far more open to handmade, recycling, one of a kind designs and op-shopping. It's actually taking up far too much brain time how much I want to alter my clothes and go to op shops and markets.

All this took was being shown one top on one website and it's actually changed everything!

I will never be one of the naturally stylish, fabulous, original girls who look so great they can write a whole blog about it, but i can be someone who admires them and listens to their message.

So my new wardrobe thinking is very refreshing. Also, I have a mortgage you know!??! (my excuse for everything which is quite a joke amongst my friends now) so SAVING MONEY is always very welcome. And I would say op-shopping, altering and recycling saves money. And makes me feel a little bit good about not spending my money on disposable fashion.

SO. After all that. I have made a few op-shop purchases recently, and I must say they make me far more excited than anything I can remember buying new recently.

I got a beautiful skirt for $7. It's a kids size but is actually too big for me (cheers for that confidence boost lol) I played with it in front of the mirror and it looked best when i tightened it and tied it with a hair-tie (lol) and wore it as a high waisted skirt. It's a very gorgeous aqua and gold pattern.

A black and grey striped jumper. It's a guys top but very cool. I love black and grey. I think it will look good with skinny leg jeans and chucks.

A mens shirt in a great green/blue/black pattern. I think I'll bring it in to wear as a dress (as in, get mum to alter it for me lol)

A great black belt. The type to cinch in the waist. $1.50

A pair of heels which I wore with my queen of hearts costume. $4.

See how even those items are all different?

I guess it's ok to look different yeah.. I don't have to always have a certain look or style do I? I think it's kind of driven into us that you have to have a 'style'.

I think wearing what you love is style itself.

To end, I've always wished I was a gifted sewer. like my Mum, she is professional. I'm going to get her to teach me, yay!!!

Cup Day!

I went to the cup today with my fabulous uncle Justin. He's a very generous, hilarious man. He's also gay, single and childless which means his nieces and nephews (all 30 of us!) get spoilt. Hence, my 2nd Melbourne Cup in a row. I would have to say i did my hair THE BEST I've ever seen my hair in 22 years. Definitely the best DIY-style I remember. Go me! Wish my camera wasn't screwed so I could upload a photo. Really must get it fixed.

I have a bit of sunburn on my neck.. dammit! I HATE being burnt. I have two things I really can't stand people willingly doing to their bodies.. burning their skin and smoking cigarettes. Sorry to anyone offended, but also not. Thus, I'm mad I forgot sunscreen. Thank GOSH there is SPF in my foundation, I couldn't stand having a burnt face.

There were many interesting sites to see today at Flemington. Very disappointed the only person of note I saw was John Elliot (former president of the carlton football club) - boring!! The best part of the day for me is looking at what everyone is wearing - the girls particularly of course. Today I feel there weren't too many bad hats/fascinators - lots of really cute ones. There were girls wearing dresses certainly not suited for their shape/size. I hope I wasn't one of them lol. It's got to be one of the biggest crimes out there in the clothing world, not dressing for your body. I try to be conscious of it... I'm not the rake I once was, but I can still wear mostly what I want I guess. I think I'm sometimes too harsh on myself and veto certain outfits when I should just embrace my figure and wear whatever! But that is another long debated subject, good old body image.

All this talk about clothes is going to bring me to a new post.

BTW, i did terrible betting. Got 1 third and 1 second - and Justin picked the 2nd!

Housewarming and etc

The night finally arrived! There was a mad rush for Simon and I to get ready before guests started arriving, but we got there!

I was the Queen of Hearts:

and Simon was an Evil Jester.

There were some quality costumes from our invitees.. we had Shrek, zombies, gorilla, gypsy, ladybug, Mr incredible, devil fairy, angel, pirate, gangster, vampire, cross dressers, lara croft, a devil.. and lots of various scary/killer types!

I bought way too much food, so will have to host a gathering to chow through it! I can't believe how annoying the weather was though.. it drizzled on and off most of the night.. and it's been so lovely lately! ggrr. But we made do, hooray for the garage. I think the setup worked alright. I love having parties!

Today I did some work in a kitchen, preparing food for the spring racing carnival. Simon and I are happy to pick up extra work if we can, we want to do some work to our kitchen. (and save for a holiday, and buy a new bed, and get central heating/cooling and, and and). I didn't mind it really.. I've never handled so much chicken in my life haha. It was easy work.. weighing/coating/skewering chook.

BIG week.. Going to be pretty tired after shop work, nannying, party, saturday work, sunday work & netball, monday shop & nannying and gig that night, tuesday going to the cup. I think I'll be pretty pooped on Wednesday! Don't mind being busy though.

Speaking of the cup (which my extremely cool uncle justin is taking me to) WHAT CAN I WEAR??! I wore a gorgeous black and white dress last year (wanted to post a pic but it won't let me...?) and I love it so much.. but I want something new. And preferably a bit more wearable.. I have to check my cleavage far too much in this dress lol. I'm hoping something in my wardrobe will inspire me. I really should've thought about it sooner but just been too preoccupied!

This is quite a long post. My next post will be about change I think. i've always been good adapting to change.. I really go with the flow, which I like. I think I've changed a lot lately, and my mind has been opened to new things even in the last fortnight which will be good to write down.

YAY: enjoyed our party!
BOO: high heels hurt.

ranga!

Red hair worked! Verrrry cool colour, I love it. Will try to post a photo.

thumbs up: my new red patch of hair! and excitement for our housewarming.
thumbs down: hm nothing atm, yay!

uh-oh..

attempting to bleach my own hair currently.. sitting here waiting for the 20 minutes developing time. it's quite warm in there under the foil! I'm pretty hopeless with this stuff, who knows how it will turn out! liza did it for me last time so if it's needs touching up i will call on her! if it works fairly well i plan on having a lovely red patch of hair next. i've done pink and purple and loved them both. the purple lasted ages! so now red. i have a feeling the red won't last that long.. also it's not fudge paintbox it's wakk. ouch the bleach is burning a bit! haha.

ummm..

I don't really have that much to say today... I got my dress from etsy wooo.
it's pretty cool! It may be a bit big in the skirt part but i'll try to figure that out.
all in all it's very cute. so tonight is one of those nights were we had 1-3 plans and
ended up doing none of them. 1. was to dye our hair (me and simon i'm talking about here)
2. maybe check out new shoppo or 3. watch a movie.
real night? simon sleeping on the couch (which is good, he really needs the sleep, stressful week.. and he'd be comfy, our couch is the bomb) and i'm on the laptop! that's ok tho.. got a big weekend coming up so glad for the rest.
I really need a haircut.. i think it's been 5-6 months since i've had one whhhew. My hair has grown a crapload. it was this short
And that's actually probably with an inch of growth...
now it's nearly as long as it's ever been.. it's been nipple length roffle. so
nearly there. i usually get too annoyed by long hair and chop it to shoulder length but i'm persevering this time. gonna grow it as long as possible to experience it, say h'hey my hair is mega long' and then chop it probs for good. i think shoulder-ish length is good. although if I could rock hair like pink's, that would be so great.
also, hurry up and wash out purple, i want red now!!!
gosh enough about hair perhaps.
first photo upload how excitement, wonder what it will look like.
also, gonna have a garage sale. if you wanna get rid of some shit, combine and sell!
we're selling a heap of clothes.

thumbs up: simon's sausage rolls.. good job bebe,
thumbs down: house envy.. haha. all in good time Hailz.

buggered

Had far too many late nights in a row! last nite i went to see my fave band simple plan. [haters laugh now.. and end]
i had a freakin sweet time, I was quite close to the front. Pretty proud to say I was definitely enjoying it the most of the people around me.. I can jump quite high when i want to evidently. And I defintely knew the most words.. old and new songs.. tsk tsk if you didn't. Also, being in the 'mosh' is a very interesting lesson in people and their habits. For example, don't push right up to the front rudely if you didn't stay there and wait. Anyone who tried to shove past me met with my back and strong resistance. NO DEAL! Also, don't.wear.thongs. seriously? how ridiculous. And don't get a prime position just to stand there and hug your boyfriend.. have some fun! With so many people dancing and jumping around you, how could you see properly anyway standing still... lame!
So I went with my bro Nick... he's a giant at 6ft5 so he was quite nice in letting a very vertically challenged girl in front of him. We also had a nice chat as we sank some bevvies before the show. We managed to catch The Getaway Plan's final song.. too busy talking lol.... So YAY, SP!

Had an exhausting day.. had a funeral to attend. Don't want to go on about it really, bit of a downer... love you russell and we will all really miss you and your cheeriness and caring nature.

thumbs up: our couch. i love it. i'm sitting on it... couldn't think of anything else.
thumbs down: an error notice coming up each time i post a blog entry. it works anyway but ggrr.. is that normal?

need to sleep

ebut first i want to document how happy I am that my mixed netball team were last night crowned division 1 premiers!!! YES!! If you know me, you know my netball is very important to me... so I'm really glad we won. also because we narrowly beat our biggest rivals.. we hate them lol. they were the only team to beat us all season, 1 loss. Domination, Thunderstruck!!! (i love our team name, good job self for thinking of it). Also my brothers team played their mixed final tonight and won!!! And nick got MVP - he is a star netballer... so all round great season for us 'bashells'!!

ooooh and i got my costume for our housewarming in the mail today. i'm soooo relieved, it's perfect! I'm getting really excited for the party, it should be awesome!!

thumbs up: winning grand finals of course! :)
thumbs down: pat hurting his leg, gggaaayyy!

saturday morning

I always have so many plans in my head for what I want to do on Saturdays..
they are just that one full day that I have to do what I want! Generally I have a bit
of a sleep in.. alarm was set for 9.30 but got revised to 10.30 when simon got home
at 4am and we chatted for an hour. We then normally read the paper and get stuck into
an hour or two or three of housework/gardening.. then, whatever! I like to see Mum and Jorja if I can. Which I would like to do today. I also plan to go shopping for decorations for our housewarming - halloween themed! We have a fair few decorations already but I haven't
checked out everywhere. Also tomoro I am participating in the ROMP http://www.melbournecityromp.com.au ... our team is the rockstar rompers.. so I have to sort out my rockstar outfit today! I just wanna buy a little toy guitar to make it obvious what I am haha. Everything else will just come from my wardrobe.. I am pretty much a rockstar after all ;)
Pussycat Dolls are currently on video hits.. at least the lead singer - nicole? - doesn't mime the verses.. seriously they are just a glorified dancing troupe. anywho. So yeah my whole point was to say even thougth I am filled with plans.. I've been on my laptop for an hour already.. this is enough! Off to finish cleaning out my wardrobe and getting the house looking lovely, then I can go shopping!!! And see the most beautiful little girl in the world, my little sis Jorja.

thumbs up: my dress ordered on etsy.com.. can't wait to get it!
thumbs down: not knowing where my tax stuff is AGAIN!

sup!

HELLO WORLD!

My first blog post!

I haven't planned a real theme for it, or decided exactly what it will be about but I've done it for a couple of reasons.

1. It's a good release for me to type things out!
2. I have fallen in love with many blogs and been inspired by them.
3. It will be great to look back on in years to come and see what my 22 y.o self had to say.

This is what my blog will definitely include

1. photos of my outfits. ala all the blogs I love :) - they inspire me, maybe I can do the same for others (although I highly doubt it, honestly)
2. random rambling! as the title promises!
3. talk about those nearest and dearest to me. I'll introduce them later!
4. hopefully something to do with running a household/money saving ideas
5. my shopping finds.
6. anecdotes about my life!

So who is this Hayley Bash?

Well my name is Hayley and Bash is my nickname, which is taken from my surname.

I'm 22, originally from Warrnambool. Have lived in Melbourne since I was 13.

I'm an Aries, but think horoscopes are really bull****!

I'm with a lovely boy called Simon who looks after me very well. We've been together 3.5 years..

We bought a house together in May.. loving it!

I run a shop full-time and nanny 4 afternoons a week too. Very busy!

I love shopping. Love clothes, shoes, bags, accessories!

I HATE peas, tuna, tomato, mushrooms and banana.

I LOVE LOLLIES. Junk food queen unfortunately.

I have a huge family, complicated, blended and extended and I wouldn't have it any
other way.

That should do it for now!

If you happen to be reading.. well, I'm chuffed!

thumbs up: white kit kat blocks mmmmm!
thumbs down: leggings as pants. who wants that much information?
